X- Rays
We recommend every new patient to have a full mouth set of x- rays to help determine your oral health. These x- rays are used to check for tooth decay that can't be seen by the naked eye and to check the health of the teeth roots and bone that surorunds them. We also take panoramic x- rays to check for wisdom teeth. Additionally, bitewing x- rays may be taken every 1-2 years to check for cavities and bone health.

Prophylaxis Exam (Cleaning)
A dental prophylaxis is a cleaning treatment performed to thoroughly clean the teeth and gums in order to stop the progression of gingivitis and periodontal disease. We recommend that prophylaxis treatment is performed twice annually as a preventative measure, but should be completed every 3 or 4 months for periodontal sufferers. We also offer scaling, root planning, and periodontal maintenance.

Sealants
A sealant is a thin layer made from a special plastic that is put onto the grooves of the teeth's chewing surfaces in the back of the mouth. The teeth in the back of the mouth are most likely to show signs of tooth decay so this step is important for preventative measures. These sealants help keep food particles from getting stuck in the gooves of the teeth, which would cause decay. Sealants can be white, clear or tinted to match the color of the teeth. These sealants usually last from 5 to 10 years. Using a dental sealant along with good oral hygiene, healthy eating habits and regular check ups is a great way to keep anyones teeth healthy and stong for life.
The sealant is usually applied as soon as a childs permanent teeth come in. The procedure is quick and painless. First, the tooth is cleaned and dried and coated with a special gel. Next, when the tooth dries, it gets coated with the sealant resin. Once everything is dry the procedure is over.
